The Challenge
Jewels, the owner of Simple Body Products, is one of those rare business owners who can genuinely do it all. She formulates her own natural skincare products (which are genuinely amazing, I’ve tried them personally), and she’s a talented photographer and designer in her own right.
But Simple Body was growing. Fast.
The brand had expanded to over 75 products, each needing professional photos for the website, social media, email campaigns, retail displays, and seasonal promotions. Jewels was still handling the photography herself, and honestly, she was doing a great job. But it was eating hours she needed for product development, customer relationships, and running the business.
She didn’t need someone to replace her creative vision. She needed someone to take the photography off her plate so she could focus on what only she can do: making incredible skincare products.
The Approach
This wasn’t a one-and-done product shoot. Simple Body’s visual needs change with the seasons, the promotions, and the product launches. We built an ongoing photography relationship that adapted to the business calendar.
Three pillars guided every shoot:
Product clarity. Every SKU needed clean, detailed shots that show exactly what the customer is buying. Ingredients, textures, labels, packaging. No guessing.
Lifestyle context. Natural skincare products need to feel natural. We shot in real environments: bathrooms, vanity setups, outdoor settings. The goal was to show these products as part of someone’s daily routine, not just objects on a white background.
Seasonal storytelling. Simple Body runs promotions around Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and more. Each season needed its own visual language while still feeling like the same brand. A Christmas collection should feel festive, but it should still unmistakably be Simple Body.
The Production
Over 16 months, we covered the full spectrum of product photography:
Studio product shots with controlled lighting for consistent catalog images. These became the backbone of the e-commerce listings and print materials.
Lifestyle photography showing products in real-world contexts. Morning routines, self-care moments, gift-giving scenes. These drove social media engagement and email open rates.
Model photography featuring real people using the products. Not stock-photo perfection, but authentic moments that Simple Body’s audience connects with.
Seasonal campaigns that transformed the entire visual identity for specific promotions. Christmas packaging with warm lighting and holiday textures. Halloween with moody tones and playful styling. Valentine’s Day with soft pinks and romantic arrangements.
Social media content optimized for every platform. Square crops for Instagram grids, vertical for Stories and Pinterest, wide formats for Facebook covers and website banners.
The Equipment and Process
Every shoot used a Nikon Z mirrorless system paired with professional lighting setups tailored to the subject. Studio strobes for clean product shots where consistency matters. Natural light for lifestyle scenes where authenticity is the point. Mixed setups for seasonal campaigns where mood and atmosphere drive the creative direction.
Post-production ran through Lightroom Classic for batch processing (color correction, white balance consistency, exposure matching across hundreds of images) and Photoshop for detailed retouching where it was needed.
Every image was delivered in multiple formats: web-optimized for fast page loads, full-resolution for print materials, and platform-specific crops for social media. One shoot, every channel covered.
The Numbers
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Products photographed | 75+ |
| Total images delivered | 2,500+ |
| Project duration | 16 months |
| Seasonal campaigns | 4+ (Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s, and more) |
| Platforms covered | Website, social media, email, retail displays |
Why It Worked
The key to this project wasn’t any single shoot. It was the consistency across 16 months.
When a customer sees a Simple Body product on Instagram and then visits the website and then receives an email, the visual language is the same. The lighting feels consistent. The styling matches. The brand looks professional at every touchpoint.
That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because someone is paying attention to the details across every shoot, every season, every platform.
Jewels got her time back. She stopped spending weekends setting up product shoots and editing photos. She went back to formulating products, talking to customers, and growing her business. The photography kept running in the background, season after season, without her having to think about it.
That’s the goal. Not just great photos, but a system that keeps your brand looking sharp while you focus on what you do best.
